Join the Regional Safety Task Force (RSTF) for an online meeting on May 20, 2024, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm, to learn about “Transportation Safety Beyond Crash Data: Linking with Public Health.” The meeting will explore the overlap of public health, epidemiology, and transportation safety. Featured speakers include Cara Hamann, PhD, University of Iowa Injury Prevention Center, who will share insights from her work with linking crash, medical, and courts data in Iowa, and Allison Curry, PhD, MPH, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Center for Injury Research and Prevention, who will share the new webpage for the New Jersey Safety and Health Outcomes (NJ-SHO) Data Warehouse, a tool being used to advance safety and health research and associated epidemiologic methods through novel linkages of state-level administrative data sources—including driver licensing, motor vehicle crashes, traffic citations, medical records, healthcare utilization, and vital statistics data. Following their presentations, there will be a Q & A and breakout groups for attendees to discuss the presentations and create action items. Register to attend.
